The Husband and I went on a date, last weekend. We went out to lunch and then went and browsed a local antique store at a leisurely pace.
This was a big deal for two reasons.
1. It was the longest that I've been away from the baby. It was only a few hours, and we didn't even leave town, but still. That first time away from baby is always a milestone.
2. We NEVER get to go antiquing anymore. Because we are rarely alone together. And taking a baby or toddler to an antique store is akin to playing Russian Roulette with your wallet. You might be able to get in and out without breaking anything, but you might break the most expensive thing in the whole dang store and kill your bank account.
We were discussing the difference between antiquing and thrifting, and we decided that antiquing is just a more expensive version of thrifting. Ha.
That being said, I actually happened upon some Pyrex that ended up costing just a little more than it would have at a thrift store. So, naturally, I bought it.
I bought this large bowl, and the cute, little matching bowl, thinking they were part of an incomplete set of Cinderella bowls. I had never seen the pattern before, so I did a little research and discovered that these were a promotional chip and dip set from the 1960's. How cool is that?
I love, love, LOVE the little Pyrex bowls! They are soooooo cute!
So I bought this one, too.
I don't know what my deal is, but I am completely obsessed with vintage animal planters, here lately. I picked up two more at the antique shop.
This little lamby is just too adorable for words. Really.
And this pink and green cat is my favorite planter yet.
Is that little face sweet or what?
As a bonus, they wrapped all my pieces in sheets of new bubble wrap, which I can re-use in my etsy shop! Whoopee!
I am so, so blessed to have a husband who enjoys old things the same way I do.
I'm hoping that means he'll be even more attracted to me as I get more and more old...
Heh. Heh.
